As a service to the community we have compiled a listing of Sex Offender databases, listed below by state, which you can search. This information is provided as a service and reference source only. Information obtained through the links listed should be verified through your local law enforcement agency or Blue Ridge Private Investigations. Many of the sites provide pictures and personal descriptors (date of birth, social security number, race, etc.) of the registered offenders, but some of them DO NOT. Just because a persons name is listed in the database does not definitively identify that person. All one has to do is look in the local phone book and see that there are others that share the same name. If you have questions, contact your local law enforcement agency or Blue Ridge Private Investigations who can verify the information. Also be aware that the majority of states have an “honor system” in place when it comes to keeping the address of sex offenders updated. The Sex Offender is expected (the honor system), and required by law (generally unenforceable) to notify the agency responsible when they change addresses. If you have questions, contact your local law enforcement agency or Blue Ridge Private Investigations who can verify the information. NOT ALL Sex Offenders are listed, some of the information in these databases maybe incomplete and should not be relied upon with out further investigation. For various reasons, usually budgetary, a Sex Offender that committed their crime or was paroled or discharged from custody prior to a specific date will not be listed. Also not all sex crimes are considered by that state to be heinous enough to have that person listed. If you have questions, contact your local law enforcement agency or Blue Ridge Private Investigations who can verify the information. The information supplied by these sites is for informational use ONLY. It is to make you aware of unsafe situations that maybe in your community so that you may take preventative actions. For example, not allowing your child to play unsupervised, or leaving doors and windows unsecured. This information is not provided for someone to exact retribution. Any actions taken against these subjects, including vandalism of property, verbal or written threats of harm or physical assault against these subjects, their families or employers can result in arrest and prosecution. If you believe that a crime is being committed contact your local law enforcement agency immediately.
