A Brief History ~

        When Ken Frederick’s career with the Lynchburg City Police Department began to wind down he started looking for ways to utilize his skills and knowledge. In 1996 he started a small business aptly named Blue Ridge Private Investigations. Today, Blue Ridge Private Investigations has grown into its own as Central Virginia’s Leader in Information Gathering. With an investigative team of skilled and experienced police officers, each case that Blue Ridge Private Investigations handles receives some of the best investigative skills in Central Virginia.

        In the years since it inception, Blue Ridge Private Investigations has been involved in hundreds of cases. One of the more rewarding cases started off with a not-so-happy: incident.  Blue Ridge PI was retained to assist in the defense of a woman who had been charged with Capital Murder after killing her husband.  The defendant contended that she was a battered woman who had acted in self-defense, but there was scant evidence to support her assertion. Utilizing skill and tenacity, Blue Ridge PI  was able to find a witness in Georgia that could attest to her former spouse’s extremely violent and unpredictable temper. This information was instrumental in allowing her attorneys to negotiate a significantly lower sentence.

        While working a case in Central Virginia, Blue Ridge PI  was asked to assist in the prosecution of a murder suspect.  After investigating various leads and locating witnesses the information gathered helped to entice the defendant to plead guilty to murder and avoid going to trial.

        Our Team of Investigators has been involved in cases allover Central Virginia. They have followed up leads throughout Virginia and testified in courts in, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, Franklin, Pittsylvania and Roanoke Counties. We utilize some of the most state of the art technologies available to pursue our cases to a logical conclusion.
